Perseverance

Hello Everyone,

I hope that everyone has survived the horrendous storms of late without too much damage.

On the 13th February Amy from Out of the Blue http://craftylittleideas.blogspot.co.uk/ held her monthly Cardmaking Workshop with the assistance of Carole  8th Wonderart.  The topic for this session was to decorate an MDF shape, they had already been primed so we had 2 hours to be creative.

I hadn't attempted this type of project before so looked forward to being creative.  You know what they say about all good plans!  Well mine didn't work out on the night,  I was too impatient to let the distress inks dry, even with a heat gun, and I ended up wiping everything off and starting again.  I think by this time the heart was very distressed and damp so it still didn't want to play, so I stopped and brought it home unfinished.

I have spent the last couple of weeks doing little bits every day and making sure that it dried thoroughly between layers.   I'm not entirely satisfied with the end result but here it is:

The stamp I used was Sun Kissed Fleur Swirls by Heartfelt Creations.
I have also been feeding my creativity making some more bracelets, using the techniques I have recently learnt courtesy of Claire Bohemian Beads who runs some of the classes for Ann at Tanzee Designs in Wotton under Edge.

I used 6mm black and silver beads for this bracelet, a black button, silver 1mm cord and silver jump rings.
This attempt was made using anodised jump rings,  these mark with pliers very easily, I will need to put something on my pliers to prevent damage in the future.

After I had made the button set I showed in my last blog I made a necklace to go with it, I enjoyed making them so much I bought a kit that used shells, there are 3 shells per link on the bracelet and is surprisingly weighty.

This bracelet was made in the shamballa style, I used 1mm black cord and three red skull beads and two red beads from my stash.

This bracelet was made using  Kumihimo braiding and gorgeous teal Toho seed beads.

Please come back and see what I have been making next, I am feeling an urge now to have a bit of break from the jewellry and create some cards or even have another go and altering a MDF shape!  Who knows what I will end up doing.

Happy Crafting and see you soon.

Sharon.  xx
